The Gospel... Makes Perfect Sense!

Listening to [The Prayer Room].

Growing up. I was no stranger to church. Around 7 years of age - I came to knowledge of the saving Grace of Jesus Christ. I heard the preacher talk about such Love that God had given & shown at the Cross when He gave His one & only Son Jesus, as a remedy for our sins. I knew I was a sinner even at such a young age; & also knew I needed a Saviour. The only way that I "knew" - was because He caused my eyes to be opened, for me to see clearly. Yeah. Grace was poured out.

God drew me. I accepted His Love. I beheld Him. I was captivated.

I still am. I am undone.

Such a grace to save such a sinner like me. I mattered to Him. He knew me even from afar & set His seal of Love on me. Man, what a wonderful Love.

Sometimes, I have to ask...as to what I did to deserve such love. And that is when the Holy Spirit reminds me... that I have done nothing remotely good enough to have received such a perfect Love. Hmm, well that's a relief. That means, that it was a free gift. Not earned, as my Pastor said this past week-end @GatewayPeople in his "Amazing Grace" sermon.

The rule of thumb here is that no one, not even one has done right enough or lived perfectly according to God's standards - except God Himself when He became a man. And chose to lay down His life for our stead. We deserved the punishment of our sins, but He paid the price in full to bring us into a close relationship with Himself. His atonement, is our recompense when we receive His wonderful gift of Grace. Pastor also shared a video [min 23:24] that was very heart-felt & quite unforgettable. Essentially painting a picture of Grace as a father demonstrates his love for his son; carrying him until the finish line & the son not feeling handicapped within those moments. This depiction of love is a reflection that shows us how broken we truly are & our Father asks for our "yes" & He does the rest.

It's kind of funny how this particular scripture came to my mind earlier, right before I started to type -
   Ephesians 4:8

That is why the Scriptures say,
“When he ascended to the heights,
he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.”

This is a pretty wild scripture, maybe not right at first. But as you look a little further -it becomes food for the weary soul because it's a demonstrative scripture of Christ's completed work. It shows an implication that becomes crucial in conclusion that because Jesus did 'this' therefore it denotes that He also did 'that' - it's a picture of love. Of Christ giving Himself, giving gifts, humbling Himself. Ultimately, being an example of Love. Showing us what Love looks like & what Love acts like. Of the very same Grace that we have received, we can also extend to one another, to those who are lost.

Freely we have received, so now we can freely give. Never out of obligation, but rather out of joy. Out of the overflow of our hearts. Witnesses to what He has done.

The Remedy for our sins. Jesus.

Let's Pray:
Father, thank you. Thank you. Thank you - for such a grace! The Grace that heals, saves, & delivers. For Your Anointing that opens our hearts to Your Truth. And for Your Church. We are Yours. In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Blood, Our Gain

Romans 3:25 (NIV)

"God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood —to be received by faith."

Hi friend,

How do you do? This morning I wanted to share something that's a bit more direct with you; as I myself began to receive a bit of a download on it. It has to do with what Jesus Christ's sacrifice really means to us. The blood He spilled in our stead.

Let me begin with a question to ask you, if you have been a long time born-again believer or a new and recent born-again believer...how much do you stop and think about "The Blood?" Maybe if your like me, not as often as you think about your morning coffee, the chores on your priority list, or last nights game! The truth is that "The Blood" that Jesus spilled for us is a matter of life and death and is more of a factor in our lives than we may realize. Let's explore this a bit further.

The reason that our view on "The Blood" matters as much is because it determines how you view yourself in light of the Cross and your relationship with God. If Christ is the Center of it All, and He is. Then we must find out what the Bible teaches, on "who" we are based on the shedding of His blood. Therefore, He has made us righteous in God's eyes. Have you ever heard of the statement...

"You are the righteousness of God, in Christ Jesus"

Well, that actually is in the Bible found in 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) and it reads a bit like this:

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

In Christ, we are not to be afraid of looking at our selves because, what we see is not ourselves, but the blood that covers us and changes us. The people of God are exactly like that, "People of God." No longer, a people of wrath sentenced to die a cruel death because of our lack of measuring up. So its been settled. We don't measure up. And we wont. He does, so through Him; we are the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. He who knew no sin, became sin. That we may have His righteousness (right-standing-with-God) instead of our very own righteousness. Furthermore, 'what we believe, is what we see.' NOT, 'what we see is what we get.' Let me expand a bit more on this saying, that it is no longer about the "do" but about the "who" as Bible teacher Joyce Meyer puts it in her recent books (see link for details). And truthfully, sometimes that is a hard thing to get. That we are not approved by our Heavenly Father based on what we do, but based on that we are His.

This is truth, that our concern ought not to be our merits to grant us right standing with Him. But the belief that He (Jesus) has brought us back to God (Ephe. 2:13). We are now children of God. Who don't have to do in order to be approved by our Heavenly Father, but just be. Be in Christ, as Christ is in us. Now we have a new song, and we ought to sing it daily. The joy and freedom that comes from this truth is everlasting. No longer tossed to and fro, but grafted into His family. A part of God's elect. A people redeemed by Grace. Amen? So what do you say, let's start to sing this song, based on "The Blood" that was spilled for our stead. We should have gotten what we deserved, but instead we received His grace and mercy through faith in Christ. The God who is Love, saving us to always be Loved with an everlasting love, healed and made whole.

What can wash away my sin
nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
nothing but the blood of Jesus

Let's pray:

Thank you Father, for giving Your precious Son, Jesus, for our salvation. Thank You for allowing us to become the righteousness of Christ the moment we first believed. We thank You because it is complete. And we are now also called friends of God. What a joy, and a privilege to be called the redeemed of the Lord and His Sons and daughters who now can sing a different song. Ah yes, our hearts rejoice. Amen and Amen.

A Message of Hope

God's Work Ministry Inspirational and Encouragement E-Mail

Dear Friend,

The Lord has spoken to my heart to write a message on the importance of time. There are many moments when we take time for granted and we don't do the things that are most important to us like paying attention to where we will spend our eternity. That is the most important thing that we should be thinking about, but many times we allow other things to fill our minds and keep us from making the most important decision; accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior. I hope this message speaks to your heart to see the importance of getting right with God and keeping Him at the center of your life. Time may seem to be on your side to make that decision later, but don't let the enemy fool you because we never know when our time will come to an end. (James 4:13-15) (2 Peter 3:10)

There are many ways that you can think about time because it can be measured in a multitude of ways. You can use time with a stopwatch to record the outcome of a race or you can use time as a countdown to signal when an event is going to end or going to start. We use time to plan our days, months and years. We use time to remember anniversaries, holidays, special events, etc. Time is used on a daily basis in multitudes of ways, but time is only relevant to us in this present world. When our time on earth comes to an end, time will cease to exist. We will have passed from a world that keeps track of days, months and years into an eternity that is forever without time.

What we must realize is that life on Earth is very short when compared to the forever of eternity. As long as one may live on the Earth, it will not come close to the time that will be spent either in heaven or in hell. It is for this reason that I believe we need to focus on where we are going to spend our eternity. We can focus so much of our time on things that do not matter and pay very little attention to the most important thing; our eternity. You see, there was a time when you didn't exist, but there will never be a time again when you will not be. You will be forever alive even after you die physically on this Earth. That is a biblical fact. The question is where will you spend your eternity?

We only have two options. It will either be heaven or hell. We will either go to heaven because we made a conscious decision to accept Christ and the finished work of the Cross or we will go to hell because we never made the time to make Jesus Christ the Lord of our life. No person will end up in hell or in heaven by accident. They will know that they made that decision. This is further emphasized with the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man. In Luke Chapter 16 we read about the rich man who died and went to hell and begged Abraham to go to his five brothers who were still alive on the Earth to tell them about that place of torment so they would not end up there like he did. The rich man knew that it was his sins which caused him to be in hell and he wanted his brothers to repent so that they would be saved from that anguish. (1 Thessalonians4:13-18) (Luke 16:27-31)

It is very simple to get to heaven. Man tries to complicate with their traditions what God has planned to be simple. In John chapter 3 Jesus tells Nicodemus no man can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born-again. There are many people who hear this term and confuse it. Being born-again means being born of God's Spirit. Just as a person is born physically on the Earth, they must also be spiritually born to be accepted by God; hence the term born-again. When someone is born-again, that means they have acknowledged their sins, repented of them and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Accepting Christ means that we have acknowledged our shortfalls, that we believe Jesus is the Son Of God and that He died on the Cross for our sins and rose from the grave on the third day.

Jesus is the only way to heaven. The Bible declares in Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Jesus is enough for mankind. We don't need to go anywhere else to receive our salvation. Jesus is life, peace, joy and love. What the world cannot give, He freely offers. Always know that God loves you no matter what. He simply waits for you to acknowledge your shortfalls and call upon Him. Jesus says in Revelations 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” He waits with open arms for you to call upon Him. Recognize your need for The Savior and know that you're not beyond redemption. He can save anyone and make them cleaner than freshly fallen snow, but they first must simply call upon the name of Jesus Christ and ask for it.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Psalm 103:10-14 “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear Him. For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust.”

Romans 10:9-11 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.”

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

John 3:16-18 Jesus declares “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
